LAC Equine and Mountain Biking Trails Closed Beginning 5/15

As most of you know, Life Adventure Center’s primary mission provides outdoor therapeutic recreation to groups affected by trauma from across Central Kentucky. We achieve this mission through extensive challenge course, equine, canoeing, archery, and other high adventure activities. The unique nature of our programming can only be insured by a limited number of large, specialized insurance companies. Unfortunately the general liability insurance market for our industry suffered huge losses last year which forced some carriers completely out of the market and the others to drastically increase rates. In addition, we were forced to limit the activities we offer just to maintain coverage for our mission-critical activities.

With this in mind, Life Adventure Center must regretfully CLOSE BOTH OUR MOUNTAIN BIKE AND EQUINE TRAIL NETWORKS to the public, effective May 15th, 2021.
We have loved the opportunity to share our property with you all through these trails over the years. While public access trails are NOT our primary mission, we developed and maintained both our Mountain Bike and Equestrian trails at great expense as a public service. Thanks goes out to our partners at the Kentucky Mountain Bike Association, Fort Harrod Back Country Horsemen, and countless volunteers who helped us develop and maintain these resources over the past few years. We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to experience our beautiful private lands. We are saddened at their closure, necessitated to protect coverage of our mission-critical programs. We hope you understand and accept our apology for any disappointment this closure brings.

We are actively working to find a solution to this problem and remain hopeful we will find a way to reopen the effected trail systems in the months ahead. In the meantime, please get out and ride over the next two weeks, while we still can!

Note: This closure only affects the mountain bike and equine trails at our main facility in Versailles. The trails at Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary remain open to the public for pedestrians only. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns and accept our thanks for your understanding!
